OPA & Glutaraldehyde Spill Kit
AC-SP1: Spill Kit
Spilled glutaraldehyde and OPA is dangerous. OSHA and ANSI standards (for the safe use and handling of glutaraldehyde-based products in healthcare facilities) require that spills be cleaned up immediately as they create a rapid increase of fumes. The JCAHO Hazardous Materials Plan requires that a spill containment response team be created and recommends keeping a spill kit close to the point of use.
In accordance with these standards, PCI medical has developed a spill kit for areas using glutaraldehyde or OPA.
Each kit includes a five-minute powdered Glute-Out® Neutralizer, which is first sprinkled over the spill. Refills on consumable items are available.
Spill Kit for Glutaraldehyde or OPA Includes the following:
- Two NG-5GAL bottles of Glute-Out® Neutralizer
- Two Impervious Gowns
- One Organic Respirator
- Two Pairs of Waterproof Shoes
- Two Pairs of Nitrile Gloves
- One Pair of Safety Goggles
- Four Absorbent Mats
- Two Bouffant Caps
